The Himalayas are the most impressive and enchanting system of mountains in the world, but it is also home to one of the poorest, most underdeveloped areas of the planet. The people of the Himalayas live in the shadow of magnificence but with challenging and rugged daily life conditions. The remoteness often results in little means of support and extreme poverty. The children of this region often live without basic healthcare or education, resulting in low life expectancy and high rates of illiteracy. The many children of the Tibetan refugees who we support face many additional difficulties which adversely impact their life chances without our intervention.
What makes us different?
HYF UK currently works in partnership with the Himalayan Youth Foundation (HYF US), and Mountaineers 4 Himalayas (M4H) to jointly fund the Himilayan Children Foundation (HCF), a local Nepalese charity by providing support through sponsorship, individual donations, training and guidance to the following institutions.
